O.C. Chocolate Festival 2011
Q. When and where is the festival?
A. Nov. 4-5, 2011 in Fountain Valley, Calif.
The venue is the Fountain Valley Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst St. (three blocks north of the 405 Fwy.)
The hours for general admission are 5-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4; and noon - 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.
The hours for the VIP Party are 5-9 p.m., both Friday and Saturday evenings. Anyone can purchase VIP Party tickets.
Q. What types of vendors are you accepting?
A. Chocolatiers, bakers, candy makers and other chocolate-related vendors; wine vendors and wine-product Vendors; holiday gift vendors.
Q. How many vendors will there be?
A. We have 100 booth spaces planned. Several vendors are already reserving more than one space, so we expect to have around 70-80 vendors when the show opens.
Q. How many people will attend?
A. We are making 2,000 tickets available for guests to purchase.
Q. What is the cost of the guest tickets, and what do you get for the price?
A. General admission tickets are $25. For that, the guest will be entitled to 8 chocolate samples and tastings, and 3 wine tastings. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased on site. Each guest will receive a souvenir tote bag at the gate.
VIP Party tickets are $50. VIP Party ticketholders will be invited to enter the show 30 minutes before the general public, giving them a less-crowded shopping time. There will be a private party area for VIP ticketholders that will offer hors d’oeuvres, vodka ice sculpture, live jazz music, and unlimited chocolate tastings until 7 p.m. VIP guests will receive a souvenir tote bag and an O.C. Chocolate Festival wine glass.

Q. How much does a vendor booth cost?
A. $150 per booth. We also offer electricity for a nominal fee. The booths are 8-feet by 8 feet, and include a 6-foot table with table cloth, and a chair(s). Two-thirds of the booths will have draped backdrops, and a third of the booths will be in the open center of the room.
Q. Are the booths indoors or outdoors?
A. All booths are indoors.
Q. Is this a casual event or a formal event?
A. This is a higher-end special event, and we encourage guests to make the most of it! We’re already hearing of groups of girlfriends who are renting limos, and we’re hearing of couples making this a date event. We will have a photographer at the event who will offer photos for you to buy of you and your friends (or you and your date).
Q. Are children allowed to attend?
A. Children’s tickets are $20 for ages 6-13. (14 and older need to buy regular tickets) We are asking there be no children younger than 6 years old, please. Children will be entitled to chocolate and hot chocolate tastings.
Q. I don’t drink, but my ticket allows for wine tastings…
A. For those who do not drink, who are underage, who are designated drivers, or who otherwise don’t want alcohol, we will happily give you additional chocolate tickets instead. Just let us know when you check in at the gate.
Q. Do I need to bring ID to the festival?
A. If you plan to partake in the alcohol, you must have a current California ID with you (with photo). You must be 21 years old to take part in the wine samplings. You will be given a wristband when you check in. All wine vendors will be required to see your wristband before serving you. Wine vendors are allowed to check your actual ID again if they feel the need to (even if you are wearing a wristband). We are taking all precautions to only serve those of legal age.
If you do not have a valid California ID with you to prove you are of legal age, you will not be given wine tickets. They will be traded out for chocolate tickets.
Q. Can anyone attend the VIP Party?
A. Anyone can purchase VIP tickets. Tickets are $45 presale, and $50 after Aug. 1. If any tickets are left at the start of the show, they will be made available at the door. We are making 250 VIP tickets available.
