The city is now accepting applications from residents who want to be part of the new paramedic membership program, which is an official program of the city of Fountain Valley.
By enrolling in the new program, which became effective July 1, 2010, residents will avoid the high costs associated with being transported to a hospital by paramedics.
The annual cost of the new program to Fountain Valley residents is $60 per household. By comparison, non-residents needing paramedic transportation to the hospital face a charge as high as $300 per trip.
Under the new program, the Fountain Valley Fire Department contracts CARE Ambulance to provide Emergency Medical Transportation Services. Each time a Fountain Valley apparatus responds to a medical emergency, CARE ambulance also responds. More information and enrollment applications are available by clicking here.
